8th Laser Hair Removal Appointment, Jan 17, 2008 Nothing exciting. My 8th laser hair removal appointment was just like the other seven. The setting on my upper lip was 12 mm 26 joules and the setting for my underarms and bikini area was 14 mm and 24 joules. The nurse did an excellent job of zapping all of my most intimate parts and I am looking forward to great results.
10 Weeks Later, Happy with Results, 3/31/08 It has been about 10 weeks since my last laser hair removal appointment. I am very happy with the results in my bikini area and underarm area, but as you can see in the pictures I still have a lot of hair on my upper lip. I’m so tired of doing laser hair removal. Since I took a six month break to travel, my time doing laser is a little longer than the average patient. I started laser hair removal in April of 2006, so I’ve been zapped for about two years now. I usually look forward to my next laser appointment, but now I’m just annoyed. I’m annoyed that I still have hair left. I’m annoyed that my first three appointments were at too low of a setting, so they didn’t produce any results. I’m annoyed at the people who tell me laser hair removal doesn’t work and I’m annoyed at the people who make these fantastic commercials claiming a simple hair removal solution. I really just want to be hair free! I’m so tempted to give up on laser hair removal for my upper lip and try electrolysis, but I’ve already invested so much money and time into laser. I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid electrolysis won’t be any better or will leave permanent scarring. I'm also worried that the laser will give me cancer or some other problem in the future. I know I should have been more concerned about the consequences of laser before starting, but I guess you just worry more at 27 than 25. LOL I guess I should be thankful that I’ve had such great results with my bikini and underarm area. I have to think back to when shaving those areas was painful. The red bumps, the in-grown hairs, the razor burn. Ugh. Even though I can’t spend much time at the beach due to the sun sensitivity effect of laser, it is nice to be able to put on a bikini and not have to worry about my bikini line. Also, I quit shaving my underarms. The last time I shaved them was the night before my last appointment. There is a little hair, but it isn’t noticeable, maybe if I was spending more time at the beach I would shave the few hairs that are there. So, I guess . . . overall I am happy with my laser hair removal experience. The next treatment will be number 9. For many people the 9th treatment is the last, but not for me, I’m afraid I will never see my last appointment . . .
12 Weeks after 8th Treatment, April 9, 2008 It has been 12 weeks since my 8th laser hair removal treatment. I’m not really looking forward to going to my 9th appointment tomorrow. The hair on my upper lip is very noticeable, but it isn’t growing very quickly. I shaved my upper lip on Mar 24, about 3 weeks ago. I had to shave because the hair was terribly thick. Now I have some stubble, but it isn’t horrible. My bikini area has very little hair. The hair that is growing in my bikini area is very soft. The hair is concentrated around the most inner part of my bikini area and the perianal area. I don’t have to shave to wear a bikini, so I’m very happy with the results in that region. I’m also pretty satisfied with the results in my underarm area. Even though the close-up pictures of my underarms look hairy, from two feet away you can’t tell there is any hair there. The hair left is light colored and soft. I hope even more is removed from this next treatment. If only the results on my upper lip were as promising
as the results in my bikini and underarm area, I would be very happy!
